National Solar Sales Manager


JOB DESCRIPTION
Balanced Energy installs solar solutions on homes and businesses. Aspects of Balanced Energy's service offering include uniquely engineered solar solutions; ROI modelling, solar installation and solar monitoring. We are seeking a highly experienced sales manager to organize and lead a nationwide solar sales team for both commercial and residential systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Build a sales team and develop/execute marketing strategies to meet personal and corporate sales targets
  • Sell solar photovoltaic and solar thermal solutions to residential, commercial and municipalities/hospitals/schools
  • Develop a sales process for collecting residential/commercial leads and converting into new clients
  • Manage all aspects of that sales process including building and refining lists with marketing, prospecting, qualifying accounts, partnering with sales staff, developing proposals, and closing deals.
  • On commercial systems, conduct solar site assessments, create custom presentations and perform feasibility analyses to determine cost effective technology selections
  • On residential systems, evaluate the customer's energy needs, available space, shading issues, electrical service limitations, and aesthetic concerns to arrive at a suitable recommendation for the solar electric system size and configuration.
  • Support corporate brand development in conjunction with the marketing and management team
  • Develop relationships with key accounts and various end users including architects, home builders, general contractors, electrical contractors, roof consultants and other similar interested parties
  • Attend trade shows, seminars, trainings, etc and stay up to date with current solar technology trend as well as assisting other salesmen.
  • Maintain a command of the solar energy markets, federal and state government incentive programs and renewable energy/solar energy industry trade organizations
  • Manage post-sales relationships in order to gain recommendations and referrals

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Must be able to powerfully present to executive board level professionals
  • Comprehensive experience selling within the B2B market
  • Proven track record closing multimillion dollar contracts.
  • Experience performing financial calculations (ROI, IRR, NPV, APR, etc...)
  • Experience in technical sales
  • Strong math and computer skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of general construction
  • Understanding of electricity and electrical contracting
  • Desire to stay on the leading edge of the solar industry
  • Ability to read, understand, and edit electrical and structural plans
  • World class communication and customer service skills and experience
  • Four year college degree
  • Minimum 5+ year's sales experience in Renewable Energy or Solar Industry sales management and business development role. Of which at least 2 years should be in selling turnkey solar systems in the residential, commercial or industrial sectors and 3+ in a supervisory role.
  • Strong focus on engaging customers via the phone on the benefits of solar electric power systems and other on-site power generation products and services with overall responsibility of building and maintaining a sales pipeline.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with computer experience including PowerPoint, Excel, MS Office and Sales Force.
  • Strong work ethic, self motivation, organization and a can-do attitude. Guided by an underlying practice of Ethical business communications.
  • Proven track record closing multimillion dollar contracts.
  • Must be able to powerfully present to executive board level professionals
  • A track record of being able to generate new business and hitting sales targets
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Working knowledge of the latest developments in solar technology
  • Visual thinker good at problem solving and implementing ideas
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
